Hi, Please first go to SCOM Console to check if any alert raised. In addition, please check if any event is logged regarding this issue. You can also check the notification settings as below: How to test notification settings after you configure e-mail notifications for a recipient or for a subscription in Operations Manager 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934756 Here are more information about how to troubleshoot alert notification: Alert notification troubleshooting in System Center Operations Manager 2007: http://blogs.technet.com/b/operationsmgr/archive/2010/08/11/alert-notification-troubleshooting-in-system-center-operations-manager-2007.aspx Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Though i have followed some steps to create an alert and make it run on the same time, but i didnt make any active alert in ACTIVE ALERT pane. Also i can see some CROSSes in my landscape of exchange and other servers, but no alerts. From no where, i got an alert after very long time but no alert after that, the alert was Alert: Root Management Server Unavailable. That alert you have just received is key to this problem. If the root health service is not available then pretty much everything stops. One reason for this is that the RMS computer has been put into maintenance mode, if this has happened you must stop the maintenance mode using the console. In the Monitoring\Computers view in the console, can you see a spanner/wrench icon next to the RMS computer? If maintenance mode is not the issue, then restart the healthservice on the RMS (System Center Management Service). MattMatt White ( http://systemcenterblog.hardac.co.uk/ )

The RMS is the root management server - it would of been the first server you installed SCOM onto. To stop maintenance mode right click on the computer object in Windows Computers view from the SCOM Console, select maintenance mode and then stop maintenance mode. As Matt already explained if there is a spanner icon next to it, it will be in maintenance mode. To restart the health service open up a command prompt and type in "net stop healthservice" and then "net start healthservice" when its completed on the root management server.
