SCOM 2007 R2 OpsMgrConnector.Config and MP not loaded
Hello, I have a SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1. Last wekend the OS was updated and one of the updates was KB954430 http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-069.mspx XML Core Services 4.0 SP2 I started getting strange comportament; the config is not sent any more to the Agents! Does any one know of some problems with the Updates from this Month related to SCOM functionality? The comportament is close to http://kobile.wordpress.com/tag/upgrade/ with the event Operations Manager has discarded items in management group which came from $$ROOT$$. These items have been discarded because no valid route exists at this time. This can happen when new devices are added to the topology but the complete topology has not been distributed yet. The discarded items will be regenerated. I tryed the script from there but after runing it 15 min.... i cancel it. Because I needed it fast back.. In this moment a restore was started with the data before the Patching..

I asked the OS admins that did the updates and they told me that only on some servers this update was installed... I cheeked some myself.. and I did not found the update.. But the symptom is that the Agents do not get the Configuration update from the SCOM Server and I think also the SCOM does not get the Config... \Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\Health Service State folder is BLANK! So.. I will anounce you if after the restore all is ok or not... PS: I assum and hope that the Core Service 4.0 SP2 generated the problem because I did not found a way to fix it..

A whole lot of things depend upon XML working correctly. That much is safe to say here. Please check the operations manager event log - anything telling there?Microsoft Corporation

Yes... strange things... like I told you Log Name: Operations Manager Source: OpsMgr Connector Event ID: 21023 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Description: OpsMgr has no configuration for management group <<>> and is requesting new configuration from the Configuration Service. And a LOTTTTTTTT of: Log Name: Operations Manager Source: OpsMgr Connector Event ID: 21042 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Description:Operations Manager has discarded 1 items in management group <<>>>, which came from $$ROOT$$. These items have been discarded because no valid route exists at this time. This can happen when new devices are added to the topology but the complete topology has not been distributed yet. The discarded items will be regenerated. Edit: Just found: No System State backup :((

Try rolling back the update via system restore. If this update hoses management groups, sure would be good to know about itMicrosoft Corporation

Maybe. If that library for XML is the issue, and you just reinstall OM, could be an issue still.Microsoft Corporation

Installed a MS ( but did not worked.. it was gray out ).. any way promoted to RMS... and still the same problem... This on a server that did not had that KB installed.. I am starting to think that has something to do with the SQL DB.. how can i chneck if the DB is ok?

Still same problem.. Log Name: Operations Manager Source: OpsMgr Config Service Date: 7/28/2011 5:44:03 AM Event ID: 29106 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: ........ Description: The request to synchronize state for OpsMgr Health Service identified by "0ac993ef-4859-6c9f-3d1d-c61ee45a4e6f" failed due to the following exception "Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.DataItemDoesNotExistException: An instance was deleted before its properties could be read. ....................................... and Log Name: Operations Manager Source: OpsMgr Connector Date: 7/28/2011 5:46:59 AM Event ID: 21042 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: ....... This can happen when new devices are added to the topology but the complete topology has not been distributed yet. The discarded items will be regenerated. I think there is something corupt... the DB / a MP.... but how to find it? If I clear Health Services from the RMS... no MP and no scripts is loaded any more inside the folders Management Packs and Monitoring Host Temporary Files from C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\Health Service State. Temporary Work around: Copy a Health Service State folder that I had from 1 month ago with some data... and Monitoring is working but only for SOME Servers and for SOME MP. Any idea?

I cleared the Hhealt state many times.. did not Clear and reboot in the same time.. I will try but for now a restore of the operation manager database is done...I think something very strange is going on in there .. because I have a lot of alerts like (the ID is different I think they are aproximatly 20-30 from 130 Servers): Log Name: Operations Manager Source: OpsMgr Config Service Date: 7/27/2011 10:37:12 PM Event ID: 29106 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: SCOM001.company Description: The request to synchronize state for OpsMgr Health Service identified by "0ac993ef-4859-6c9f-3d1d-c61ee45a4e6f" failed due to the following exception "Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.DataItemDoesNotExistException: An instance was deleted before its properties could be read. at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.OpsMgrDataAccess.ConfigurationDataAccessor.QueryInstanceProperties(ReadOnlyCollection`1 instances) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.DataAccess.DatabaseAccessor.QueryInstanceProperties(ReadOnlyCollection`1 instances) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.CommunicationHelper.StateSyncRequestTask.ConfigurationItems.Instances.CollectPublicProperties(ReadOnlyCollection`1 identities, IConfigurationDataAccessor dataAccessor) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.CommunicationHelper.StateSyncRequestTask.ConfigurationItems.ConfigurationItemCollection`2.CollectPublicProperties(IConfigurationDataAccessor dataAccessor) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.CommunicationHelper.StateSyncRequestTask.ConfigurationItems..ctor(StateContext stateContext, IConfigurationDataAccessor dataAccessor) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.CommunicationHelper.StateSyncRequestTask.CreateResponse(Managers managers) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.Managers.Synchronize(OnDoSynchronizedWork onDoSynchronizedWork) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.CommunicationHelper.StateSyncRequestTask.Execute(Managers managers) at Microsoft.Mom.ConfigService.Engine.ConfigurationEngine.CommunicationHelper.StateSyncRequestTask.Run(Guid source, String cookie, Managers managers, IConfigurationDataAccessor dataAccessor, Stream stream, IConnection connection)". And the Strangest part is That THE RMS is one of them. Some symtope that i see .. - if i clear the Health Service... in the folder Management Packs from the Health Service no files are added afterwards... - If I install a new agent.. does not appear in SCOM - If i put a old Health Service folder in place of the curent one.. Some monitorign is working for Some servers....

I have the same problem like the one form here.... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/operationsmanagergeneral/thread/cc54785b-5851-44fe-8e01-21cd4d8499d7 + a new one because i restored the opmanagerdb.. and not the DW... SCOM does not know to wirte in the DB corectly any more..

What if you manually uninstall and install agent? After uninstall there's a MSXML install msi on Agent root folder to be installed too. Try to check that.R.E.M. - YEAH!

The Server RMS.. that has also the problem... is 2008 R2 SP1 .. that MSXML cannot be installed on this OS version.. Uninstalling and reinstalling.. the agent.. I tryed on some server does not work without first fixing the RMS Server.... Status for now: - uninstalled all KB... - the SQL operation manager DB is under restore.... I started to do the restore of the DB.. because i think something went badly in the SQL DB.. and is not related to XML KB. ( i installed a MS, did not worked to good... because it was gray out.. and I took the RMS role.. and => the same problem)
