Hi, When we add a new Windows based server into SCOM 2007 what all information is discovered and updated in the SQL database for that particular server. Regards, Ranga

It really depends on what management packs are loaded, so that is a very difficult answer to give. I would suggest taking a look at the discovies of the MPs you have loaded in MP viewer to see what they are up to. Another good exercise is to use the discovered inventory view and select different classes to see what is discovered on different machines. Dont forget some discoveries only run once a day, so if your looking for information on a newly installed machine, I would suggest waiting a day to make sure all its discoveries have run. hope this helpsScott Moss MVP (Operations Manager) | President - System Center Virtual Users Group | Vice President - Atlanta Southeast Management Users Group (ATL SMUG) Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. There is a task you can run that will dump rules and monitors for the health service. Go to the operations manager view. Expand the agent folder, click on the agents by version view. Find the computer, highlight it, then run the health service task called "Show running rules and monitors for this health service". Save that output as HTML and enjoy going through that bad boy. ;-) Silect also makes a tool that you can purchase which will go in depth on what an agent is doing. I think it has reports as well. I believe MSFT is investing efforts into incorporating this in future versions of the product. People are always curious and asking administrators "What all is monitored on my box". Currently there is no easy way for a SCOM admin to tell you.Regards, Blake Email: mengotto<at>hotmail.com Blog: http://discussitnow.wordpress.com/

Thanks for the response so far. The reason for asking this question is that a customer of us is currently deploying SCOM 2007 R2. They do not have an automated mechanism to populate their Remedy CMDB database and there is no SCCM or any other asset management tool in place. We are looking out ways to find if the SCOM database holds any type of server h/w & software information in its SQL database so that we can retrieve it to populate the remedy CMDB database. If i have the HP management pack deployed to the servers will the SCOM 2007 R2 database hold information like H/W model, installed RAM and HDD, CPU details etc. If it will be stored would like to know the structure of the SCOM SQL database to find its location. Once we have this information we will later derive a mechanism to sync the data to remedy CMDB
