SCOM 2007 R2 Alerting question
Good morning everyone!! Hope you all had a great holiday weekend! I have a quick question. I have setup an alert for the infrastructure teams and chose all categories (Raised by an instance of specific class) except for SQL/BIZTALK/MSMQ. That works really well as they did not want to get the alerts sent to DBAs...etc... I noticed that some custom alerting (EVENTID rule) still went to the infrastructure pager alerting. Do you know what CLASS this alerting is under? Is there a specific class that I can take them out of to get rid of the rule alerts? THanks in advance everyone! Kevin Hittle

You probably targeted Windows Computer or Windows Server with your event ID rules. Just target the BizTalk class or SQL class (or whatever)."Fear disturbs your concentration"

Thanks Andy for pointing out the obvious! :) I guess I could also make the alerts informational and alert the DBAs...etc...since Engineers only get warnings and criticals... Kev
