SCOM 2007 R2 - Auto resolve alerts question
Hi, Since installing CU3 for SCOM it seems that we are now seeing a load of 'Auto-resolve' alerts coming in early in the morning. I'm quite happy that these open alerts are being auto-resolved, however is there a way of stopping the email alerts coming through as they seem to confusing some people? I'm pretty new to SCOM, and the only way i could thing to do it would be create a time-based override for each type of alert that needs to be auto-resolved. Is there a better way to do it? Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig. You can put a delay on the subscription. So, check for how long in general these alerts are open and the navigate to the subscription, go to Channels and there under Alert aging you can set your delay time.mats.w | www.opsmode.com

Hi Craig, For the Alerts you don't want to have a notification when it closes, go to the administration pane and navigate to subscription. Edit the subscription relevant to the alert and change it to NOT notify when the alert closes. Note: this will also disable the notification for a resolve not done by the 'Auto- Resolve' process.Cheers, Arie de Haan This posting is provide "AS IS" with no guarantees, warranties, rigths etc. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. thank you for this solution but when i drill down into the monitor subscription, i do not see where i can make the change to "NOT" notify when the alert closes. We have the alerts going to a public folder in exchange for several members to review the changes, but i don't want to clutter the folder with CLOSED alerts... we are using this for AD account creation, deletions, etc.. thanks
