SCOM - report installed RAM configuration
I need to find out the RAM configuration in Windows Server 2003 and 2008. I know how to find out how much RAM is installed, but I need to know if 4GB = 2x2GB, 4x1GB or 1x4GB. I can't power the servers down to physically check and I can't reboot to check in BIOS. Is there a way to report this using System Center Operations Manager?

Not out of the box - the discoveries will only discover the amount of physical ram. You could potentially write your own discovery to find out this information or do you have another application available that does configuration management e.g. SMS \ Configuration Manager \ Altiris?Cheers Graham View OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/
