SCOM - Delete grey agent from agent managed tab
Hi Manual is the best way to delete the agent. Incase if you have any issues deleting manually then we can use the SQL queries to delete the gray agents. Donald D'souza (http://donald-scom.blogspot.com/)

Hi Gilad, what is the reason you can not remove the agents from the SCOM console? This really is the best way.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My Blog about SCOM) - MVP 2012 and Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient

O and keep in mind that if the agent is still on that other box it might come right back. If you know it is turned off and will not come back than the delete button should be used. The more brute forced way of editing SQL is a non supported way and did cause a number of issues which went to MS customer support. However I think that might be because of wrong use or including more machines in the query than was meant to be through use of wildcards.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My Blog about SCOM) - MVP 2012 and Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient

Hi Bob 1. I cant use the manual way because i should delete the grey agent as part of server End of life process, this process is automatic. we first delete the agent from the server and than update SCOM. 2. Agree that SQL is a bad way to handle it. there is no API for this? or any way other then SQL?gilad g
