SCE Console on Windows 7
Hi, I've just installed the console of SCE SP1 on a Windows 7 installation and it keeps crashing on me. So I'm curious to know if it's possible to run the console on Windows 7 yet? I get this message in eventvwr: Fault bucket 228842744, type 5 Event Name: CLR20r3 Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: B0JHPZQR1B3GGBEMYEIFSKRWRQLFYWDD P2: 6.0.1885.0 P3: 47be40e8 P4: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration P5: 3.1.6001.1 P6: 4797eee8 P7: 9 P8: 57 P9: System.Security.Security P10: Attached files: C:\Users\jolu\AppData\Local\Temp\WER93E2.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml These files may be available here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_B0JHPZQR1B3GGBEM_c8ba6538ea8f1716ffccdb711be4edaee4ed_091fac22 Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: Report Status: 1033

Hi,Well it's clearly a DOTNET error, and you've obviously had very little to do with the product. I don't mean to be belligerent but search for my user posts and you'll see why.So, are you kidding? The damn thing is flat out running on bloody XP or even worse, Vista. (yes I'm from Australia, so don't be offended if you're from the UK or US).Be prepared to spend some time at least deleting the local cache MOM DB. Exclude it from the AV scanner. Be prepared for SNMP devices crashing the RMS if you can get that far with Windows 7 to say the least.have fun.

Sorry but Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 Console will work on Windows 7. I have it up and running now. What you can not do is install a monitoring client to a Windows 7 machine. If you need the details of what I did just ask. Hi Joseph, SCE 2007 does not support Windows 7 in present. Hi JonHave you managed to get the System Centre Essentials client installed on the RTM version of Windows 7?ThanksJonathan Yes, I just did the install from the CD. It works without crashing. I can not get a SCE client to install though, but I have not tried to install that from the CD. I will be looking at that later in the week.Jon

Hi JonI followed your advice got the client installed via the CD on my Windows 7 client and am now able to get updates via SCE, however, I am getting an error C0000135 when trying to install an app that I have published. Have you any experience of publishing remote apps via SCE to a Windows 7 machine and making it work? The client installed perfectly and appears to be working too - the updates are being downloaded and other than remote apps are being installed. Look forward to your reply, Jonathan

I have successfully deployed the SCE client to a Windows 7 workstation. I have also dployed software to the workstation as well. It hasn't been without issues but it seems to be alright.Cheers,Amanda

Sounds like playing with fire. Oh well good luck if you only need to concentrate on Windows 7, least of anyones problems I think. Will not run on 2008 R2 as documented.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenter/thread/c8d918ef-03c3-4c20-a6b3-d900a0196a76I presume Agent, not console.

Hi Amanda - I have got the client installed and it's working fine, pulling down updates etc but when I get to install a remote app I get an error C0000135. Whne you created your remote app package did you chose to install itto add remove programs?
