Hi, Based on my understanding, if you just only want the workstations get updates, you can use WSUS. If you want get updates from 2010, the workstations should be managed by SCE 2010 and license is needed. Regarding the licensing of System Center Essentials, I would like to share the following with you for your reference: System Center Essentials - How to Buy http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/system-center/buy.aspx If you need help on the licensing issue, you can call 1-800-426-9400 (select option 4), Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. (PST) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. You can also visit Microsoft Volume Licensing Site http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/ to find the contact information. Hope this helps.
