SCE 2007 installed working ok - need help with notifications though
Hi,I have succesfully configured notification subscriptions and recipients ok and the daily health report is received ok however I have the following problems:1. I have configured a notification to email me when an IIS website/url fails. I configured using the deafult wep app managment pack as well as creating my own. Both methods result in an email to be sent once I stop the website in IIS however once started and stopped for a second time there is no notification?I configured the advanced settings to notify if http status code does not = 200 (website ok). Again this works but only once.2. I am trying to configure the Health Service Heartbeat Failure option to email me if a server becomes anreachable however cannot find this option under authoring>management pack objects>monitors?3. Also, what does the alert aging setting do? I thought if it was configured with a time, it would continue to notify me about the alert until it was resolved or closed?Essentially all I want is to be notified if any of our managed server don't reply to the heartbeat monitor if if any of our websites are not running properly?I have spent most of the afternoon watching the sce team training videos and blogs but have been unable to find anything to resolve my issue. I have also viewed the online help but this tends to just show you how to create notifications etc which I have done. Please help.

Hi, Please check the IIS MP version on your SCE server, the latest version is 6.0.6539.0, you can download it from this link: Download details: Windows Server IIS for SC OpsMgr 2007 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=D351BCA8-182B-4223-8C9E-627E184BA02B&displaylang=en&displaylang=en For second issue, you can enable ping monitor in SCE console- authoring space - Windows computer - Entity Health - Availability - Ping status. For alert aging, just like you said, if the alert is still active and not be resolved, it will be sent via email again.

Hi thanks for your reply.I have downloaded the MP and will try to see if that works. Can't find the ping status though - when i go to the authoring section it just brings up the management pack templates and mp objects? The alert aging doesn't seem to work either then?Interestingly though, I have just gone through and closed several alerts which were open and received a load of email alerts immediately after? It seems, the moment you respond to some of the alerts, the emails which should have been sent initially are then sent through? Very strange and not ideal as the whole point of SCE should require little intervention.

Hi, How about the result after you importing the latest IIS MP? Also, you can find the ping status monitor in SCE console - authoring space - Management Pack Objects - Monitors - Windows computer - Entity Health - Availability - Ping status.
