SCE 2007 - Remote assistance without user intervention?
Hi,Is it possible to set up the Remote Assistance capability in SCE 2007 so that the users do not have to approve the connection? Also is it possible for SCE to show you who the current logged on user is? We've tried using the Display Active Sessions but this doesn't report anything when we know that someons is currently logged onto the workstation.thanks,Matt

Hi Matt, For security concerns, when you use remote assistance to connect to client, the logged on user must approve, you cannot skip this step. Also, for checking current logged on user, I'd like to sugggest you use SCCM/SMS.

Thanks Eric,Bummer kinda. I can understand the security implications but still would be nice to simply tell the user "I'm taking control" and not worry about a two-step approval.I have found a 'workaround' here on the forum for creating a custom view that shows the last logged on user which simplifies the other problem.Cheers,Matt

You can create a forced remote assistance connection. To do so, edit the javascript in the html files located at
c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\system\remote assistance\ It uses a popup with javascript for the onClick actions for when a user clicks allow or deny. To force the connection, and/or remote control,
just copy the onClick action to the end of the header, so that the box loads, and then does the last action, which is the same action that would take place if the user had clicked allow.

Hi,
For your question about Remote Assistance, there is no way by default to do what you are asking for. What you can do is to deploy whatever software (teher is alot of free ones) and confiure a task to start it.
