If I have real-time protection enabled on my clients then do I really need to enable scheduled scans?
I read an article where an SCCM Admin disabled scheduled scans (Full and Quick) and just enabled real-time protection?
Thanks

What is the rationale for disabling scheduled scans? Security, of necessity, needs layers of defense. A scheduled scan is one more layer of defense. Real-time protection will detect when malicious files are accessed, executed, read, etc. A scheduled scan will go over the hard drive and find malicious files that may not have been executed.
So, can you disable scheduled scans? Sure. Should you disable them? My opinion is, no.
Again, that is my two cents. . .others may feel differently.

That is what I am trying to find out, the rationale behind it.
Thanks Jeff
