SCEP
Hello, I have both 86x and 64x servers and clients. The servers are running 2008r2 and the clients are running Windows 7 professional. I have Trend Micro Antivirus running successfully on them but now I prefer to move to System Center Essential Endpoint Protection. Recently, I purchased another set of apple machines running mac os x. NOw, my question is - Will the SCEP( System Center Endpoint Protection) compatible with the macs or what do you think? Thanks

Hello, Nii is correct. To secure these Mac OS clients, Endpoint Protection 2012 is now available to provide antimalware detection and remediation of viruses. It also offers real-time analysis of new content arriving on the Mac client, and the ability to scheduled disk scanning. Endpoint Protection 2012 Client for Linux is also available now, and provides the same antimalware and content scanning as its Mac counterpart, along with a System Center Operations Management pack that can remotely monitor and control a group of Linux machines. For example, the management pack could alert administrators to outbreaks or allow them to remotely stop and start protection services on the managed set of machines. Hi Li, Thanks so much for that confirmation. I though so after driving in the link Nii directed. I appreciate it so much. The way forward is to know how much the volume licence is and whether there is a free download for trials? Do you have any idea about it please? And is there any step by step documentation that I can use? And are there any tricks I have to know about the product before I set the ball rolling. Answers to these questions would be appreciated. Thankssameyaw

Hello Sameyaw, This forum is only for System Center Essentials related issues. For the question about the Endpoint Protection, the following forum should be the best resource: Forefront Endpoint Protection http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/FCSNext/threads Thanks,Yog Li TechNet Community Support
