SCCM with SCOM on the same server
I already have my SCCM server setup and running, Can I also run SCOM on the same box? I have read that all the ports are different and it is possible, however performance maybe an issue. I have also read that the reporting is a problem. Is there any microsoft documentation that states if this is a supported senario?

This is not recommend. Best Practices for SQL Server Use a dedicated SQL Server for each site Do not use the Configuration Manager site database server to run other SQL Server applications Configure SQL Server to use Windows authentication Install Configuration Manager and SQL Server on the same computer Follow security best practices for SQL Server, noting the following issues: The site server computer account must be a member of the Administrators group on the computer running SQL Server If you install SQL Server using a domain user account, you must ensure that a Service Principal Name (SPN) is populated to Active Directory Domain Serviceshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/bb735870.aspx http://www.enhansoft.com/

Hi,Yes you can run it on same box, but you don't want that. :-)Both products requires a lot of resources. You will defenitly face performance issues.Follow me through my blog and Twitter!

Hi, I have a lab environment and install SCCM and SCOM on the same box, so far, it's working well. But it's not recommended to do that as both of the two products need a powerful server if you can numerous clients to manage. Separating the role will improve the performance.
