SCCM will not install client on a system that has been removed, rebuilt then re discovered
I'm using SCCM 2007 R3 and all works fine, untill a client is rebuilt. If I remove a client from SCCM by deleting it from a collection eg All Systems, then reinstall Windows OS (using WDS, not through SCCM OS deployment) using the same hostname for
the client, SCCM discovers it without a problem. but monitoring the CCM.log, it doesn't try to push the SCCM client out to it. Even if I right click on the system and Install Client, it doesn't even try.
It's as if SCCM doesn't realise that the system has been removed and still has the Install Flag set??? If this is the case, can I check to see if the install flag is set on a single system, or is there another way I should be doing this.
It doesn't seem to make a difference whether the system's AD account was deleted and recreated, or if the same machine account is used for the reinstallation of the OS.
Any advice gratefully recieved.

Why don't you install the cient through Task Sequence as part of SCCM OSD? That would be better rather than Client PushAnoop C Nair - Twitter @anoopmannur

Once you delete it, ConfigMgr has no memory of the previous record.
The onyl time (that I know of) that you will see nothing in ccm.log for a manually initiated client push (besides the site being just plain wonky), is if the resource you are pushing to is not in the site's boundaries and thus not assigned to the site.
Thus, does the newly discovered resource for the system show as assigned to the correct site?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

It would be great for further assistance if we knew the answer to Jason's question.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Thanks Jason,
What I had realised was thaT WHEN THE SYSTEMS WERE REBUILT, THEY HAD BEEN MOVED TO ANOTHER subnet outside of the site boundary, and so had no site assigned.
Thanks for your help.ROstler
