SCCM server Pinging network outside the boundaries
Hello, My network admin has brought it to my attention that our SCCM server is pinging ip ranges not part of our sites. We have a one way trust with another domain and they've informed us that SCCM is pinging an address range on their side. The boundaries are setup with the two sites we have and I was under the assumption that should limit SCCM to just that site. Why would the server ping these addresses? Are boundaries the correct way of liming SCCM's range? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Hi, How have you configured the different discovery options. Do you have network discovery configured?Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

NO we don't use that one. We use AD(all of them) and heartbeat.

ConfigMgr does not ping any resources, except you have installed R2's client health tool and configured Client Ping: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd334672.aspx

I just ran Microsoft Network Monitor 3.3 and I can see tons of ICMP traffic leaving and headed to this 10.190.97.* adress range. I've confirmed with the other domain that even tough they noticed it on the router, it's not addresses they actually even have. It seems to keep moving and there is no process associated with them.

Thank you Everyone who answered. I tunred off link-layer topology and rebooted the server and it went away. I am not sure if the reboot fixed it or link-layer being off.
