Hi, I will not recommend using the same sitecode. Besides that, the link from will explain how to perform the installation.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

I second Kent's statement. Sitecode (within a hierarchy) should never be reused. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb633287.aspx: "All references to the original site need to be removed from all other sites in the hierarchy, and you need to clean up any objects previously replicated to potential child sites of the new site". And removing that references is not possible without editing the database manually. That's not supported and leads to using a new sitecode.

Hello - Yes, you can use the same sie code if it's really needed. Need to make sure that there is no traces of the previous site in the entire SCCM hierarchy. May be you can use preinst.exe http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680827.aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632423.aspx Anoop C Nair

Hi Iam trying to decommision a sec site and install the same sec site from a new box. What is the process to install a sec site with the same site code but on a new server box as the existing box is retiring. I would want to retain the same site code which is the key. thanks
