SCCM query collection not updating
The add/remove info is picked up by hardware inventory, not by discovery, so you have to make sure a hardware inventory is run before you can expect any results.

You guys are awesome! I initiated the 'Hardware Inventory Cycle' on the client (from Systems Management) and it is now in the collection! I just need to find a script to automate this. The below one might be an option... http://www.onlinetechblog.com/blog/index.php/2009/10/sccm-script-to-initiate-a-hardware-inventory/

Hi all, Excuse me if this is a repeated question but I have had a search and cant find anything. We are currently using SCCM 2007 R3 and have an issue with a query based collection updating. Under 'All Windows XP Systems' we have a query based sub collection called 'Office 2007 machines'. The issue we have are that new builds are not being picked up by the 2007 query. The new machine definatly gets put into 'All XP Systems' but not in 'Office 2007 machines'. The query statement is definatly correct in the 2007 collection as I ran a VB script with the same query to confirm this. The 2007 collection dynamically updates every hour and I have forced an update and still no luck. Has anyone else come across this? I just cant seem to make sence of it! Thanks Paul

That basically says I need to do a full discovery and a full collection update to pick up the machine though? Surely the AD discovery is already working if the machine is in 'All Windows XP Systems'....?

Hello - The collection query for 'Office 2007 machines" is based on AD group or ARP?Anoop C Nair

Sorry should have been more clear in the original post. The 'Office 2007 machines' collection is a query to check all the machines (that are in the 'All Windows XP Systems' collection) for an add/remove programs display name that is equal to 'Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise'. The machine that is not populating in the 'Office 2007 machines' collection is in the 'All Windows XP Systems' collection and has entry in the add/remove programs for 'Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise'. This is why I cannot figure out why it is not picked up.
