Hi All, I am using ConfigMgr Client Version: 4.00.6487.2000 in all client machines. i am unable to get patches from SCCM server since february 2011, so i tried to reinstall Client Version, Checked firewall settings, re-initate actions. Please suggest me how to do to get updates from SCCM server. I am waiting for your reply.

what steps have you performed to see client is not getting the patches ? did you check log files ? so you have 1 machine that won't patch. there are many reasons, if it is xp check windows update agent via the Update website so it can reinstall, fix WMI. Stop the SMSAgent and delete the softwaredownload folder from the Windows folder, restart it, see if it downloads, check to see if the folders were created on the client What do location services say, can it find the dp correctly. if xp make sure the windows update agent is registered it could be stopped or broken. no, i have many machines inwchich client is not update from last 1,2 & few months.i tried to reinstalled SCCM Client & i can't. we are using vista os.its update via SCCM server. i had checked the Logs, but can't find possible cause from it.yes, it can find location correctly. and i have one query, how to reduce system from enforcement state unkown.client was working fine. still that machines are refelect in enforecemtn list.can u suggest me, how i can check, our SCCM clients are working fine. and it will update patches from server regularly. What do you mean you can't reinstall the client? Hi Trevore, I able to reinstall the Client by ccmsetup.exe. after reinstalling the client, when i checked in server after 1 days still its showing in enforecement status unkown list. in which its not getting any update from sccm server. can u suggest me which logs i need to checked in client machine. I have 52 machines in enforecement status unkown and 57 machines in failed to install update. i wants to reduce this count from compilance list. Regards, Chandan

Hi Chandan, Please pick one of the client machine with problem to check the WindowsUpdate.log, Wuahandler.log and Scanagent.log file. Make sure the client has the latest WUA installed. Hi Chandan, Did you re-register the WMI components? 1. Log on with the built-in Administrator account (or another Administrator account)\ 2. Run ccmsetup /uninstall 1) Find the ccmsetup.exe in the client, it is usually in the folder %windir%\system32\ccmsetup 2) Open a cmd, and go to the ccmsetup folder. 3) Type ccmsetup.exe /uninstall in the cmd. 3. Re-register all WMI modules with the following commands (can be executed as a batch file or individually from the command prompt): @echo off sc config winmgmt start= disabled net stop winmgmt /y %systemdrive% cd %windir%\system32\wbem for /f %%s in ('dir /b *.dll') do regsvr32 /s %%s wmiprvse /regserver net start winmgmt 4. Recompile all MOF and MFL files by running the following command in the %windir%\system32\wbem directory: for /f %s in ('dir /b *.mof *.mfl') do mofcomp %s 5. Reinstall the client and test again. If the issue persists, please refer to the following information: 1. It may be that the SYSTEM account does not have permissions to read the local policy. Can you verify that SYSTEM has full control to all the files/subdirectories in: C:\WINDOWS\System32\GroupPolicy and/or C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\GroupPolicy (for 64-bit machines) 2. Can you check in the same directories for any registry.pol files? If so, please delete them and reboot the machine.
