SCCM database grows extremely

hey,

the last few weeks we noticed that our SCCM Database (SCCM Version: 5.0.7958.1604; SQL Version: 11.0.5058) grow about from ca. 100 GB to up currently 230 GB + 30GB logfile.

We are supporting an environment of about 14000 Systems and 18000 users.
The hardware inventory size foreach client is about 5MB for full inventory

We are using one primary site and two secondary sites currently.

Having a look at our database in detail there is one table: "DBMON_RunningQueries" with a data (not index) size of 152652504 KB (about 145GB)

Is this 'normal'?
Any ideas why this table is as big as it is?

Thank you in advance

Kind Regards

I don't have access to ConfigMgr right now so I cannot double check if that table is existing at all, but the name does not sound very familiar. You can check in a lab if that table exists at all?
DBMON_* sounds like smsdbmon.log. Does that logfile provide additional information?

Hey,

well I have to update my lab environment first :)

in smsdbmon.log there of course is a lot of information - but no errors as I can find directly now.
The log writes in about 30 minutes ca. 3MB (so a lot of stuff)...
Don't know if this is normal

Just because there's no errors, doesn't mean anything as you aren't troubleshooting a failure here.

The table does exist but in the environment I am currently working in, it is far below that size.

Since this table is totally undocumented (public facing at least) your best bet is to contact Microsoft customer support services (CSS) for help as I don't believe this is normal but have nothing to back that up or attribute it to.
