SCCM client has only two actions available and reporting as client=no in server.
Hi, I have been experiencing a problem with our SCCM server 2007. Some computers are reflecting as Client=no in the server so I instructed my fellow IT personnels in the branch to have it reinstalled. After installation, setup seems to be successful though. ccmsetup.log has an "installation succeeded" reflecting in it. Check on the control panel, configmgr applet is also there. But checking on the actions tab, only two actions are available. Any lead on what is the problem here? Hoping for you help. Thanks!

I saw this problem more than one time. are all the clients have 2 actions or it's only 1 client. if it's only one client in the same subnet, you can do the following. 1. uninstall SCCM client from this machine using (ccmsetup.exe /uninstall located in C:\windows\system32\ccmsetup) 2.restart the client machine, delete the client from SCCM server and make new discovery . 3. after it is discovered install the SCCM client again.

Mark, Apart from Eswar's recommendation on subnet thing, I would ask you to follow either of the below steps- Step1- try repairing sccm client and initiate actions and then check the logs. If locationservices.log and clientlocation.log looks good with no error try the below step. Step2- check the EXECMGR.log file under SCCM Client logs folder and go through the log by using trace32.exe. If you get any error related to WMI settings, might it be due to WMI error and need to be fixed. In case you have repaired WMI on the machine, you can try an uninstall of sccm client and install SCCM client again on PC. In case none of the thing helps, try to check ClientIDManagerStartup for any outstanding registration error. Thanks.

I've seen this on a few systems here. Check the datatransferservice.log and contenttransferservice.log files on the machine for any BITS related errors (easier if you use the trace32.exe utility to view them). If you see any, try rebooting the machine. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the client, deleting the CCMSETUP and CCM directories, then reinstall the client and reboot.
