SCCM client directory settings?
Hello guys, I have my SCCM 2007 SP2 running, (thanks to Torsten :)) But i didn't remember where did I configure the sms client directory for machines. Default now, on machine which I have SCCM agent installed, the directory will be created at C:\Program Files\SMS_CCM and there is a \Cache folder inside it. Now I would like it to be created under C:\WINDOWS\System32\CCM and Cache folder should be under this directory also Where in the Site Configuration settings have I do to change the default client directory? Thank you in advanced. regards, ---Packie

Hi, Ensure that the computer is not a management point. If so, the cache folder is located in the %ProgramFiles%\SMS_CCM\ By defaut on client computer, the cache folder is under %Windir%\System32\CCM\ folder or %Windir%\SysWOW64\CCM\ if your windows is x64

I just uninstalled the client again and added some extra line for ccmsetup CCMINSTALLDIR="%windir%\system32" SMSCACHEDIR="%windir%\system32\CCM\Cache" but now it returned error MSI: Could not access network location %windir%\system32 and yes about management point, i checked the log, it reads as this computer has management point (perhaps due to this machine was previously a SCCM primary site, but now SCCM has been removed from this machine) Retry time 120 mins... (how can I decrease retry time to push client install.. :} Thanks for your advice---Packie

You don't need to use CCMINSTALLDIR and SMSCACHEDIR because the default location of SCCM client is CCM folder under System32 (for x86 windows). So, on this computer, verify that HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\MP does not exist. If so, remove the MP container, reboot the machine and try again to install the ConfigMgr client without command line.
