SCCM USB stand-alone media restarts task sequence on reboot
I have several task sequences that I have successfully run from both CD/DVD and USB stand-alone media. The first time I boot to a CD/DVD, the computer will prompt me to "Press any key to boot from CD...". But when I insert a USB key, it does not prompt me to "Press any key", it just automatically boots to the USB. This is a problem because when using USB media, I have to boot to the USB to kick off the task sequence, and then I need to be there to remove the USB key any time the task sequence requires a reboot otherwise it will automatically boot to the USB key and restart the whole task sequence all over again! For one, is automatically booting to the USB key without prompting the user to "Press any key" normal? Or is this just a Lenovo "feature"? And two, shouldn't ConfigMgr be smart enough to know not to restart the task sequence over from the beginning if it's already in the middle of executing the task sequence? Does anyone have any special tricks that will allow me to plug a USB key in once, boot to it, then walk away and not have to babysit the entire task sequence?

change your bios boot order to boot from hdd first, and then you only need to be present for the first boot and utilise the one time boot menu of the computer (eg: f12 on Dell's), i'm not sure what the one time boot menu key is on lenovo's perhaps it's fn+ F11 ? Yeah, I guess I could do that. I have other computers though that don't have the one-time boot menu option. That means I would have to go into the BIOS, change the boot order to put the USB first, boot to the USB and kick off the Task Sequence, then on reboot go back into the BIOS and change the boot order to put the hard drive before the USB. I was kind of hoping for a more elegant solution (one that might be simple enough that I might even be able to talk a user through the process over the phone *gasp*). Popping in a USB stick and clicking next a couple of times is perfectly fine for (nearly) every user, but if I have to walk them through the BIOS, forget it. Is changing the boot order my only option?
