SCCM Status message for newly identified machines
Hi - We have large environment where servers are often created with no communication to our SCCM team. Is there a specific status message (component name and Message ID) that gets created when a machine is brought in to SCCM, and can we have an action item based on this to move the new server to specific collection? Thanks, Mike

Why not just have a collection query that pulls in all servers based on whatever criteria you need? It runs every X hours and you're good.Scott Gill SCCM Consultant

I have that, but the idea is when a machine comes on line, I put it into a specific pre-production patching collection, patch it, then move it to Day0, Day1 or Day 7 patching collection in the cycle. Some of our production servers can't be patched, so I can't deploy patches to an "all servers" collection.

If you are doing an automatic deployment of the ConfigMgr client when it is discovered then you can run the following reports Client Deployment Status Details Report Client Deployment Success Report Computers discovered recently by discovery method Or much like Scott said you can create a collection or just a query and populate it with comptuers that have an install date within the last 30 days (dateadd / Datediff). Then you can see in the last 30 days what computers/servers have been added. http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com
