SCCM Site Server Connect SQL Instances
Experts, I am planning to host a 4 SCCM Site Server in different location and 1 Database Server with 4 SQL instanaces connected to each site server. 1 Central Site server in Australia, 1 Parent Primary Site Server in Australia, 2 Child Primary Site Server in New Zealand and Australia, 1 SQL Server (with 4 SQL Instances) in Australia. Is this possible to host a Single SQL Server with 4 instances and each instances connect to SCCM Site Server? Thanks Shiva

Yes, it's supported for a single SQL to host several site db'sKent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

That is supported as Kent already stated, but I don't recommend using a remote SQL server that is at the other end of a WAN link.

I agree with Torsten, if you are going to do this then why not do one site only?http://www.enhansoft.com/

We plan to Configure one SQL Server for SCCM Site Database's in a region and to minimize the Cost.

You may save on SQL lic but you will sacrifice performance, reliability, and supportability. If you are going to use remote SQL then you should consider have one big site as you have affectively done that by using remote SQL.http://www.enhansoft.com/

Hi, Hosting the site database for more than one Configuration Manager 2007 site on a single SQL server computer is supported. However, installation of more than one site on the same computer is not supported for the SMS Provider. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
