SCCM Server License
Hi All, 1. Do I need SCCM 2007 License in Mixed mode? If yes where can I see that license and the expiry date for the license. If the license is expired how can I renew the license? 2. SCCM in native mode requires the PKI certificate. From where I can check the expiry date of the license and how can I renew the license? 3. Does client needs the separate license to get managed by SCCM? If yes where can I check that license in client machine? Please let me know the answers of the above question in detail. Thanks & Regards Uttam

1. Yes. There is no expiration. 2. Native mode certificate requirmeents are detailed on techNet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680733.aspx. This has nothing to do with licensing though. 3. Yes. Licensing for ConfigMgr, as with most Microsoft products that have CALs is on the honor system. There is no key to install and nothing expires.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Hi Sandys, Thanks for your answer. 1. Where I can check the license details in SCCM Server which is in Mixed mode? 2. In client side, how can I check the CAL license? Thanks & Regards Uttam

Hi Uttam, As an answer on both of your questions there is no way to check it. You don't have to enter any licensing details when performing the installl or at any time (just as with for example SQL server). But you are responsible to buy & maintain the correct number of server licenses & CAL's... As Jason mentioned this is the same approach as with most CAL based MS products. Kind regards K
