SCCM SP2 Upgrade
Hi All,
while running prerequisite Checker on central site server got two warnings as below -
Backlogged Inboxex -
To ensure that data is not lost during the upgrade process, critical inboxes should
be performing as expected and have no backlogged files waiting to be processed. If this
\test does not pass, this could indicate that a component has stopped, has stopped processing
data, or is unable to keep up with incoming traffic.
MMC Update for Configuration manager.
This software update addresses several MMC errors that may occur when running the
Configuration Manager console. This update should be applied if any of the following
occur: Configuration Manager console stops responding when the host computer is low
on available memory, context menu errors on console home pages, or inconsistent display
after drag-and-drop operations do not succeed. More information about this update is
available at: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=98349.
Second one i can understand but first one not.
Can any one help me to understand what first is showing and what will be workaround for the same. Rakesh Kumar

1. Verify that the site server is processing critical inboxes in a timely fashion, and that inboxes do not contain files older than one day.
Personally I delete the contents under <sccm installation folder>\inboxes\auth\ddm.box\ and I proceed with the install. Also if you still get the warning dont' worry about it, just proceed with the install

2. You should install this hotfix that resolves many issues that occur when you use an MMC :

Thanks got it. one more thing that today i have also run the prerequisite on onther primary site and got three additional warnings -
1. .Net update for Configuration manager -
This software update addresses a browse dialog box error that might occur when the
Configuration Manager console is installed on computers with 64-bit microprocessors.
This update should be applied only to computers experiencing this particular issue.
More information about this update is available at:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=98350.
I have checked that all servers has .net 3.5 Sp1, .net 3.0 Sp2 and .net 2.0 Sp2 and as per given link shows it is only applicable for 2.0. once i tried to installa it give the error that it is not supported. is it required to install.
2. Distribution Package version -
All distribution points in the site to be upgraded should have the latest version
of software distribution packages before beginning the upgrade process.
I have checked the all packages with theire version on all primary sites is updated as per selected distribution point. even after it gives the same warning. can you help me to find out some workaround.
3. Client Duplicate ID - Duplicate client IDs can cause unexpected results in collection evaluation and
software distribution to clients. Duplicate client IDs should be resolved before
continuing the upgrade process.
I have deleted the client certificate from client machines using ccmcertdel.exe toll and observed that as per report there are some machines in column "Previous name" not found in SCCM console and also not in use. Should i need to delete it
from database.
please kindly advice.Rakesh Kumar

these Warnings can be ignored,it won't prevent an installation from completing.
Make sure that you have a recent sccm backup before to start the upgrade, also see here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee344152.aspx
