SCCM SCOM Alert
Im getting these alerts in SCOM all of a sudden. Does anyone know what this is related to or what might be generating all those requests? Alert: ConfigMgr 2007 Perf Threshold: MP Get SDM Package (Total Requests) > 10,000 over 3 hours

Kent, I am also receiving this alert. Thank you for providing that resource, which tells me that a "SDM Package" is really "Configuration Data Content" in Desired Configuration Management (DCM). I've traced the alert to the perfmon performance counter "SMS MP Get SDM Package" -> "Total Requests". The value I'm seeing is currently at about 39,350, and was at about 36,500 1.75 hrs ago. So over the last hour and 45 minutes, we're averaging about 1500 "SDM Package Requests" per hour. So to translate the terminology, we're getting about 1500 "Configuration Data Content Requests" per hour. But here's the thing... my client is not using DCM at all. There are no configuration baselines or configuration items defined. And my client only has about 500 SCCM clients deployed at the moment. So why are there so many requests coming through? Is there a way to make these requests occur less often? Or turn them off? EDIT: I read that SDMs can also be related to Software Updates in SCCM. Is this true? It would certainly explain the number of requests, since we are actually using Software Updates. How do SDMs relate to Software Updates? Thanks, Frank
