SCCM Remote tools issue on 1 PC

I am trying to connect to a windows xp sp3 pc using SCCM Remote tools and it keeps showing ' Remote Control is disabled'

I have repaired the remote contorl agent and, uninstalled and reinstalled the ConfigMgr client to no avail

it shows 'SCCM Remote Control Agent'  as True under components within the SCCM Client Centre

When i attempted to install the SCCM client manually, the ccmsetup.log showed ' Failed to create the ccmsetup service (0)'

when i attempted to run the SCCM client manually with the /noservice switch, it ran and completed the installation fine but still shows 'Remote Control is disabled' message when I attempt to use SCCM remote tool

anyone know how to resolve this issue?

this is only happening on 1 computer.

the remotecontrol.log has the following entry repeating every few mins

Remote tools is disabled.Re-enable it in the SMS client agent settings

I have checked the Remote Tools Client Agent on the primary SCCM server and the Remote Tools agent is not disabled.

The following registry key change finally did the job for me

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Client\Client Components\Remote Control]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001

change the dword from 0 to 1 and I was immediately abel to remote control to this PC.

itsted,

This is not a ConfigMgr 2012 issue but rather a ConfigMgr 2007 issue, this post should be moved and or asked in the ConfigMgr 2007 forums.

Thank you,
