SCCM Remote Tool Keeps Disconnecting
Hi guys, having an issue at the moment with the SCCM remote tool where it keeps disconnecting RC sessions. Afterwhich it locks the screen and then we cant reconnect as it thinks there is still an open session. Any log files for remote tools or initial
troubleshooting ideas at all? Thanks

Disable antivirus and tools like antispyware, then check if the issue still occurs.
When the issur occurred did you run any programs that will launch UAC? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

SCCM has pre-built queries for displaying Remote Tools activity.
From the SCCM Console go to System Status ->Status Message Queries->Remote Tools Activity Initiated at a Specific Site. Enter your site code and time value.
Also, take a look at the System event logs on the local system. This will also give you remote tools activiy information that you can use in your troubleshooting process.

Great, thanks guys. We are using SCCM 2012 Endpoint ironically enough. Do we know the .EXEs being used then we could potentially exclude?
Thanks

Have excluded the following folder location
C:\Windows\CCM\RemCtrl
And the following process exclusion:
CmRcService.exe
After testing I still recieved the error. The local log for remote control (cmrcservice.log) file shows the below errors:
A connector error has occurred. (OnConnectorError).
An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. (Error: 80072746; Source: Windows) CmRcService 26/06/2012 11:46:01 AM 2424 (0x0978)
Session error = 0x80072746. (OnSessionError) CmRcService 26/06/2012 11:46:01 AM 2424 (0x0978)
The behaviour we see when this occurs is that the session is terminated and the local machine locks
Any further ideas would be welcome.
Thanks

Further to this we have run a network monitor on the machine which we connected to and during the course of the connection we recieved the following traffic messages relating to SSLV2:
10653 11:40:13 AM 28/06/2012 140.8048669 Unavailable 10.7.119.51 5CB15110PD SSL SSL:SSLv2RecordLayer, Error (needs reassembly) {SSL:9, SSLVersionSelector:8, TCP:2, IPv4:1}
Not sure if this is something we need to look into further
Thanks

nickm34,
The reason why Remote Control disconnects and locks the desktop is because the network connection was severed for some reason, check your network connection. The behavior you are observing is for security reasons, the session locks to protect the shared
session remote control session.
