I think, if I understand you correctly, you want to know how to allow access to the Remote Tools to all of your helpdesk team without installing the admin console on each persons desktop, correct? What I did was just copy the RC.EXE and the RDPENCOM.DLL files from a valid console installation and have my technicians use that. When they use the RC.EXE (Remote Control) it opens a window that allows you to enter a computer name that it then attempts to contact. All SCCM Remote Tools rules are enforced, but you only need to deploy two very small files. Does that help?

I have tried the above method and RC.exe runs on a Vista client. However it refuses to run a W2K client. Does RC.exe compatible with W2K?

Use Remote.exe for W2K client as per the Microsoft documentation. Alexxic
