SCCM Reinstallation Question
I need to rebuild our SCCM infrastructure and I know from reading on these forums, that if I rebuild my Central/Primary site I also need to rebuild the Secondary sites. But we also have a Primary site in another untrusted forest, does that need to be rebuilt too? Here is our current infrastructure: Forest/Domain 'A' Central/Primary site server 4 Secondary sites Forest/Domain 'B' Primary site server We are running Windows Server 2008 SP2, SQL Server 2008 and SCCM 2007 R2. Thanks, Rich

Hello - The key question should be, what is the motive behind rebuilding the SCCM infra....Depending upon your ans we could have number of options... Yes, we need to build the secondary servers if we wanted to attach it other primary site. Also, we you want move SCCM primary server from one domain to another then we need to reinstall the SCCM. Before rebuilding the sites you should make the primary site in the untrusted domain a stand-alone primary site. Once you have recreated the new site hierarchy you can make the stand-alone primary site a child site to the new hierarchy. It's fully supported and will work, just don't reuse any site codes.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund
