SCCM R3 installation error
I get an error when trying to install R3. 'Setup was unable to create trigger file to reinstall Reporting Services Point'. The reporting services point is working fine and has no error logs. The error ID is 1603.
I am running SCCM on 2008 R2 and the reporting services point is on 2003 R2 SP2.

1603 is the generic MSI error code which means you must examine the log in more depth. The install log by default is place in the user's temp directory, use %TEMP% to quickly get there.

I looked through the log and there were no errors until the end. Everything appears to handle correctly. The installer almost fully completes. It fails at the very end. Here is the end of the log:
