SCCM OSD Naming the computer and joining it to the domain.
I currently am trying to get SCCM deploying windows 7 enterprise to name a computer then join it to the domain. It's SCCM 2007 R3. The way i've been trying is to set the unknown computer collection variable OSDcomputerName to blank and it should prompt you for the variable. When I pxeboot it goes through the install without asking for a name as well as not joining to the domain. In the task sequence under apply network settings. I have the ou blank because i just want it in the default computers folder. I'm not really sure what I have done wrong. All the drivers install. Applications install. It works great except I dont want to have to go and manually name and join every pc to the network.

When you see the window with OSDComputer name on it you need to double click it and type in the computer name, this is before the image is getting applied. Adding to the domain is part of the task sequence under the Apply Network Settings. Enter the Domain in the Domain: box. Edit - Need to make sure you have "Join a Domain" bullet selected.
