My companies prior SCCM server died. I built a new server to replace this one. Upon pushing new clients with a reinstall option I noticed the collections, Client field never changes to yes, site code and assigned fields do update). I looked at the ccmsetup.log and see the entry for the new server. But when I look at locationservices.log it is pointing to the old server site name (the new server has a different site name that the old one and active directory was not extended). So any ideas on this? I went ahead and included the locationservices.log. And another tidbit, under site systems, configmgr management point, properties, the allow devices to use this management point wasn't checked. I did check it and then try a client reinstall. Hi, Have you deleted the boundries from the old SCCM primary site in the AD? it sounds like it pulls the boundry information for the old site. check in the AD under System\System Management and make sure that there are no references to the old SCCM site in there. have you configured the boundries for the new SCCM site? Why didn't you take the easy route and restore a backup from the old SCCM server? Did you verify that the client did indeed reinstall by checking ccmsetup.log? Thanks for the reply. AD was never extended so there isnt a System Management container. I have configured the new boundries for the site as well. As a note, I also added a server locator point role today to see if that made a difference. Also when I bring up the client in control panel and go to advanced it does have the old site code.

I just right click on my test collection computer and choose install client. The client installation methods, client push installation has the smssitecode pointing to the correct site.
