SCCM Linux Client omniserver.bin hard coded to libssl.so.1.0.0 instead of libssl.so.10

Hello All,

Recently we deployed quite a number of Linux Clients for SCCM. They all were working fine. Last night, the Linux admins patched their servers, and now the client installs are failing.

It seems the omiserver.bin is hardcoded to libssl.so.1.0.0 instead of libssl.so.10 library which points to the latest version.I am not much of a Linux/Aix admin, but any idea if there is a hotfix for this? or any new agents for Linux servers?

Any other options where we can get this resolved?

We are on SCCM 2012 sp1 cu3.  The version of Linux is RHEL6.5 and sccm linux client is <tt>ccm-Universalx64.1.0.0.4648.tar</tt>

Thanks in Advance for your help.<tt></tt>

Hello,

I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue.  We have been able to reproduce the issue on Red Hat (and derivatives) where openssl is a later version than 1.0.0.  We should have a fix for the issue in the next cumulative update for Configuration Manager.  In the meantime, you can create a symlink named libssl.so.1.0.0 that links to libssl.so.1.0.1e (or whichever version is actually present).  If you have a number of installs to do, you could modify the "install" script for the Configuration Manager agent to create the symlink prior to the agent installation.

Thanks,

Kris

Thanks Kris.

We opened a premier case yesterday and Microsoft suggested the same thing. We have to link the library.

Thanks for responding.

Hi Kris,

I'm not a Linux expert. How do I create the symlink? What is the exact command?

This is the error on my Linux Server:

Checking Prerequisites...
Running preinstall validator
/tmp/cmetc/bin_100/preinstallvalidator: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Pre-Install validator failed. Please check the version of OpenSSL with CM installation requirements.

Rodrigo
