SCCM Inventory
Hi, Im planning to implement SCCM in my environment, but I have few doubts if I can manage some clients that are not in my environment. We have plenty of schools that do not has any connection with our enviroment, they only has an ADSL and they work as worgroup, and I would like to know if SCCM has any standalone agent that can run inventory on this machines. If not is it possible to publish a Management Point on a DMZ and manage computers that are working as workgroup. Im more interested in inventory at the beginning. Thanks Rodrigo Daphanis

Hi, Sorry there is no such standalone agent, you need to deploy the SCCM Client if you want that information. Yes, it is possible to publish an MP on a DMZ and mangage workgroup machines, the requirements and supported scenarios are described here: Overview of Internet-Based Client Management http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693755.aspx Supported Scenarios for Internet-Based Client Management http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693824.aspx regards, Jrgen-- My System Center blog ccmexec.com -- Twitter @ccmexec
