Try to start your console with /sms:NoRestore switch. It's very good switch for everyday use too, makes MMC start-up a lot faster. That still reverted back to the old site.

The adminui.log keeps reporting that the RPC Server is unavailable. I'm a little lost, what do I need to connect?? Thanks.

I changed the account name to xxxxx.old and even deleted the account, but after starting the ConfigMgrConsole it still brought up the old site name. Where else could the console be getting that information from??
November 19th, 2011 5:14pm

SCCM is installed, but my ConfigMgr Console attemps to connect to my 'practice' site name that I used before. I have gone through the registry and deleted the SMS entries and also cleaned out the System Management container in Active Directory, but the old site name still reappears. Any suggestions for a fix?

Save the console when you reconnect to the new Site... You can also look for any Console related errors in adminui.log fileThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
