<08-19-2010 17:50:33> ***SqlError: [42000][6512][Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Failed to initialize the Common Language Runtime (CLR) v2.0.50727 with HRESULT 0x80004005. You need to restart SQL server to use CLR integration features.
Background:
SCCM SP2 on W2K8R2 server
SQL on remote server W2K3x64 with SQL2005 x64
I have sysadmin rights
I have local admin rights on the SQL server
Have tried to install it to a db shell created by my dba.
Have tried to let SCCM create it.
CLR is enabled on the SQL box..
ANy ides?
Kinda critical to get this going ASAP.

For ASAP issues you should contact CSS (MS support), forum are for community support.
0x80004005 = Access Denied. So there is a permission issue.

Thanks.
I know the 80004005 is an access is denied, but thought it was throwing this as a symptom of something else.
I will verify my accounts and permissions

OK, could you please list all of the security info that is needed to install SCCM.
Meaning permissions on the site server as well as on the SQL server.

FYI, it begins to create the database. I see the tables populating and then it dies.

This is a generic SQL failure. If you do a simple web search for this message, you will get lots of hits. Perhaps pursuing this on a SQL Server forum would be better as it may not be ConfigMgr specific.
For ConfigMgr, the installation routine must create and install the database. The permissions are documented on TechNet at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632649.aspx.
Basically, the site server's computer account must have local admin permissions on the SQL Server system and sysadm permissions in the SQL Server instance. The account installing ConfigMgr must also have the same for installation. Anything else is not supported.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

Hi,
For this error message:
Failed to initialize the Common Language Runtime (CLR) v2.0.50727 with HRESULT 0x80004005. You need to restart SQL server to use CLR integration features.
One probable resolution is to reinstall.NET Framework 2.0. To obtain the .NET Framework 2.0, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
