SCCM IPv6 Inventory

Hello,

I have a query regarding the inventory information.

I could see that some of the client properties shows up IPv4 as well as IPv6 addresses. but as of now, we have not configured any IPv6 addresses to be used.

SCCM database is further integrated with another software which is getting all the IPv6 addresses for clients as well.

Is there any way to stop this, meaning, the inventory should only pick up IPv4 addresses and not capture IPv6 addresses so they are not stored in SCCM database.

IPv6 is part of the discovery data record. You cannot turn off just IPv6

Thanks Nolan,

1) Just out of curiosity, there is no modification which could be done to stop these from coming in the SCCM. only the IPv4 are required as it is really affecting my other software databse.

2) If I disable the IPv6 on the machines, would that help in cleaning up the database of IPv6 entries gradually ?

Garth,

I had responded already after 5 minutes. This was a follow up.

This isn't that urgent but I am just trying to find if there are ways.

Hi,

That may be possible. You ought to be able to try that yourself.

Can you not prevent the IPv6 data from SCCM database replicating/transferring to your the other system?

A follow up to what? Just because Nolanc replied with a few minutes of your original post, does not mean that he or anyone else will reply again that fast to your reply.

IMO, you should wait 7 days before bumping and even then you should provide more details as to what you have tried in the past 7 days or what you are hoping to accomplish.

I believe you haven't read my original post,
I am not asking for any troubleshooting, its just a question/query.

So, in this case, waiting for 7 days wouldn't affect. In case there would have been something to try, i do understand and follow that and doesn't bump into. I surely acknowledge that not I would not get an instant response.

I have clearly read your original post. And you have to understand that the forums are for CM12 Admins to help out other CM12 Admins. There is no guarantee that anyone will ever reply to your post. If waiting 7 days or longer for anyone to reply to your post is NOT an option then you need to contact (paid) Microsoft support.
