SCCM IIS settings
Hi folks, i recently had to move my sccm install to a new server. i kept all the same vital info (server name, IP) on the new server and was able to run the site recovery wizard successfully, but, none of the IIS settings/sites came over during the recovery so the client installs and reporting etc are not working. Did i miss something? shouldn't the IIS related stuff be part of the SCCM backup/restore? Does anyone know how to fix? ThanksColin Stewart

No, the IIS stuff should happen when you install the roles on the new server. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

hmm, it didn't. Is this due to the fact this server is 08 R2? im starting to see that there is quite a bit of bafoonary involved to get it to work properly with R2.Colin Stewart

You need to be sure to configure IIS 7 for SCCM http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc431377.aspx John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Hi Colin, recreate the reporting services point and (MP if that's broken). That will configure IIS correctly if you have the correct features enabled (bits, webdav etc).Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

I tried recreating the reporting services point and management point and still nothing. reinstalling the role takes just a few seconds, i don't see it really trying to do anything substantial (not that creating IIS sites is a big job). Have either of you guys ever had to revert to using something like this? http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/how-to-properly-reinstall-iis-in-windows-server-2008-on-an-sccm-2007-site-system.aspxColin Stewart
