SCCM Domain Controller deployment
I'm currently looking at the pros/cons if i would use SCCM and/or WDS for a large W2K3 domain controller deployment. I'm searching a deployment guidance which describes the HW integration (for 3 different images), the base OS installation, the DC promo part
and some custom installation steps like installing WINS, DNS, changing windows services configuration, configuring the TCP/IP protocol, DNS Refreshinterval, Windows Firewall, general hardening.
Is there a specific domain controller deployment guidance available?

if using Windows Server 2008 and above, to simplify Domain Controller deployment in SCCM you could integrate MDT 2010 update 1 and use the MDT additional functionality in your task sequence to Add Roles or Features, like I demonstrate
here, if for some reason you don't want to use MDT integration in SCCM then you can script the installation of specific roles and features like in
this example
however in your case it's server 2003 which would mean checking the
following post, so why in 2011 are you still deploying Server 2003 ?

Dear Niall,
Thanks for your answer.
Do we have to use the MDT 2008 update 1 to support the deployment and customization of Windows 2003 Domain Controllers?

no and besides mdt 2010 update 1 is the latest stable version, you can deploy servers just fine without MDT, mdt integration just makes it easier.
