SCCM Collection information, replaced systems
When we do a hardware replacement of a users desktop, we give the new system the same machine name as the old system had. When running reports in SCCM many of them list the information from both the old and the new system. Is there a way to remove the old information? IS it a bad practice to give the system the same machine name? Thanks James

It will be removed by the default maintenance tasks asssuming you have configured them. Personally I do not like reusing computer names. I use the service tag or serrial number as a name. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

You can install and configure the Client Status feature from R2 (and R3). With this feature you can mark clients as inactive after a certain number of days. Inactive clients can be deleted automatically in SCCM by the site maintenance rules or you can create a collection of the clients and use Delete Special.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund
