SCCM Client not registering or generating a GUID
I have tried all of the tricks I know of and that I could find and have not been able to solve a client issue I am having with 2 of the machines on our SCCM 2007 R2 SP2 installation. The client installs fine and appears to be working fine - all
of the local logs that are created show no errors EXCEPT for the ClientIDStartup log cannot get past
RegTask: Client is pending registration. Sending confirmation request...
After a number of tries it errors out to this:
Error initializing client registration (0x80040222).
The interesting thing about this whole thing is that it is NOT generating a GUID - the SMSCfg.ini file never contains an entry for the Unique ID, so there's no way to REGENERATE a GUID. I've tested MPList communication, uninstalled, CCMCLeaned, Tranguid-ed,
ccmdelcert-ed, reinstalled the client using various methods and nothing is able to shake this loose. Any further suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. This is on an SCCM installation that has been running relatively cleanly for more than
a year now.

Hi,
After client installation, delete the ConfigMgr certificates locally on the client (MMC/Certificats(Computer)/SMS/Certificates) then restart the SMS agent host service
