SCCM Client is reinstalled at restart.
Hello,
I have an sccm site with sccm 2007 SP2 R2. I have deployed the sccm client 4.00.6487.2700 (dutch) to our clients (Win XP) using sccm's Client Push Installation. All clients are deployed without any problem and i recieve al information i need. The problem
is that every time a client reboots the client is reinstalled accourding to the logs on the client. In the logviewer i see Event ID: 1035 "The product is reconfigured. Productname: Configuration Manager Client. Productversion: 4.00.6487.2700. Productlanguage:
1043. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0. This is very annoying because the logontime is very long. Can someone please help me resolving this problem.

Hi,
Clients should not automatically reinstall themself if you have used a client push installation method. Can you check the ccmsetup.log file on one of the clients and verify that the installation is acutally taking place.
CCMsetup.log is the log file that records the installation.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

Did you install all the pre-reqs for the client. Bits normally must be pushed manually to it. Make sure no one has a /forcerestart on the client install. As a general rule the client will sit half way installed until the machine is restarted
and then it will complete the install unless something else has told it that it is ok to restart.
Is it picking up patches as soon as the client installs and then restarting?http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

I cannot find any evidence in the CCMsetup.log that the client is accually reinstalled. The only recordings in the CCMsetup.log have a timestamp from when the client is deployed during OSD. What are all the pre-reqs? BITS will be installed
during the deployment/installation of the client or am i incorrect? I have a task sequence for the OSD in wich the client is installed (during "Install Windows and ConfigMgr"), nothing more nothing less. But i still get the message in my logging that Windows
Installer has reconfigured the client during startup of the computer (before logon). I get this on my Windows 7 machines as well is our Windows XP clients.

I am having the exact same issue on some [not all] clients in a child site and was wondering if anyone ever found the cause/solution.
To add a bit more info, I don't know if this is MP related, however looking in ClientLocation.log, the Current Management Point does change at some point during the boot from the primary to the secondary site.
Also, when I removed and reinstalled, and ran WMI repair from SCCM client center, every application received a 1035 event upon the next startup.
