error 1612 says The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it. how are you running the ccmsetup ? is it from the network share or copying client setup files manualy ? //Eswar Koneti @ www.eskonr.com

What command-line (exactly) are you using to initiate the install? Also, you do know that XP SP2 reached end of life about 18 months ago?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Are you running ccmsetup.exe from a shared folder somewhere? If so, what permissions exist on the shared folder and the NTFS files? And (Eswar pointed out), no on the XP SP2. Microsoft does not support XP SP2 at all -- it is no longer a supported product as of about 18 months ago. They only support XP SP3. Open the Client MSI log, go to bottom of the log file, search upwards for Return Value 3 The few lines above should indicate the actual error in more detail. You mentioned localising the kit, well with the command line you supplied, it will try to get the kit from the MP (Site). CCMSetup.exe /source:C:\TEMP\KIT SMSSLP=xxxx SMSSITECODE=xxx FSP=xxxx SMSCACHESIZE=5120. C:\TEMP\KIT - Copy the entire kit from your ConfigMgr\CLIENT folder to C:\TEMP\KIT That'll use the locally copied content and not try to bring it down from the MP (Site!). ConfigMgr SP2 supports XP SP2 - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee344146.aspx R3 can limit you though - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff977062.aspx This could also help you: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680980.aspx

It seems it is not an issue with Permissions or ccmsetup.exe runnding mode at all. Some Issue with Windows Installer..Thanks Eswar i ll check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971187Reddy
