SCCM Client Health - Fix WMI/Trend Service Issue
Hi, We have an issue needing to fix WMI on many client workstations due to one reason or another. Some are clients that are installed but have inventory issues, others we can't even get the client installed due to WMI issues. We run a client health script that does check WMI, but at this time it does not fix it. I am looking at recommendations on how to fix those workstations that do have WMI issues. We have been unable to repair WMI via a scripted means because the WMI service needs to stop which also needs Trend OfficeScan to stop. Our company has a couple of of methods setup against the user stopping Trend. 1) We have a group policy that does not allow the user to stop the service. 2) OfficeScan cannot unload without a password. We are not able to remove either of these security settings, but need a way to fix WMI. So, just curious if anyone else has faced this situation and been successful in getting around Trend to fix it? Thanks!

I would think you can leverage "Run As" (to stop the service) and a screen scrape app like WinBatch (to securely provide the password) to script a fix here..
