SCCM Client Cache value is not getting set
I installed SCCM Advanced client on Windows 2008 R2 server x32 bit and the client is receiving advertisments. But when I login to the server and check Configuration Manager settings from control panel, found advanced TAB is greyed out (but Site name is avaliable with grayed out) and Cache value is not set. Did uninstall and re-install still its grayed out. Win2k3 server are working fine and cache values are set as expected with 1000 value in Cache. Used ccmsetup /mp:<sccmmp name> SMSSITECODE="ZZ1" command to install client. Any one can explain whats wrong. Server : SCCM SP1

It's a user account control issue IIRC.

I have disabled UAC for the server and also I am using my domain admin account to install (which is added to local admin group). When I select Config button, the cache value get updated but once i close the screen and re-open its grayed out again.

Hi There Does anyone have any answer on this yet. I have exactly the same issue with the CCM Client on Windows 7 workstations. The Cache settings are greyed out until we hit configure but after closing it and opening it again its greyed out once more. Does it this mean the client is working correctly or not?? Cheers

Does it this mean the client is working correctly or not? That's the expected behavior.

The fact that it is greyed out is the expected behaviour?? Is this new on Windows 7?? On XP it was not greyed out all the time?

Yes, it's expected when using Win7 or Server 2008 with UAC enabled. That's even mentioned in the docs somewhere. There is no UAC in XP.

Disabling UAC, and right clicking configuration manager in control panel and selecting run as Administrator DOES NOT fix this issue. I am having the same issue on Win7, I was trying to change the Cache Size via a vbscript on Win7 and it was failing, I went into the Config Mgr, advanced tab from control panel to take a look and everything was greyed out. I completely disabled UAC reboot the system, go back in, right click run as admin. Still greyed out??

I have run into the exact same proglem as mentioned here. I reinstalled 20 Win7 PCs, They have then been standing for 2 days installing a lot of programs. I came back and the clients are as mentioned above, I wanted to see if it actually installed all Programs, but the Run Advertized programs say no software(although it have installed most of it) the Primary SCCM server now report them all as having no client installed. We have UAC Disabled on all PCs. when I looked at all this I was logged on as Local Admin and as my Domain admin, no difference. Ive tried to repair client, no difference. Any news on this problem?

Is the "Clear install flag" task enabled? Is the SMS Agent Host service still running on the clients? Run Advertised Programs does not show mandatory advertisements - so the behavior might be normal.
