SCCM 2012 deployment in DMZ

Hello,

we have SCCM 2012 deployment with 2 servers:

Server1 - Primary site (asset intelligence sync point, component server, dp, fallback status point, mp, reporting services point, site database server, site server, site system)

Server2 - Site system server (component server, distribution point, site system, sup.

We want to deploy "server3" in DMZ and allow it to communicate with server1 and server2, so dmz clients don't have to communicate to sccm servers outside dmz.

If this is possible, what roles should be installed on sccm server3 in dmz?

Well you need to have MP and DP for sure. IF you are doing windows update you will need a SUP point as well on the server.

To make sure the client report to this MP and DP you will need to make sure you have the boundaries properly set and configure.

Also you need SCCM 2012 r2 CU3 at minimum to make sure you can set MP affinity or using the 2012 r2 SP1 you will get MP assignment via boundaries.

Hope this help

Is there no way to control which MP clients use on SCCM 2012 non R2?
