SCCM 2012 SP1 Toolkit RBAViewer

I had the sccm 2012 console and the Toolkit installed- everything worked fine.  I upgraded to SP1 and reinstalled the console on my machine - worked fine.  I needed to use the RBAViewer in the toolkit today and it will not open (crashes).  I found the new SP1 version of the toolkit and installed- it also crashes.  I need a fix asap because I need to change a role permission and stupidly, this RBAViewer is the only way to do that.  The error I get in event viewer is 1026 in .NET Runtime folloowed by a generic 1000 Application error.  HELP?

Thanks,

And if you install the console and RBAViewer on another computer? Same thing?

Don't know about that.  I'll install on the server itself, unless there is a problem with that?

It's your server, you know the potential issue, you have to evaluate the risks if the console breaks :)

I had the same issue.

just noticed it is linked to the profile you're using.

to solve it, go into the users\<username>\appdata\local\temp and delete the folder rbatoolcache

Brilliant!  I was headed down the path that there was something wrong with .net on my machine based on the errors produced in syslog when the RBAViewer crashes.  Deleting that folder worked.  Mind if I ask how you figured it out?

sure, a pair of critical eyes and a tool called process monitor did it!

I'm getting this as well.  But the suggestion to delete the temp folder isn't working for me.  The rbaviewer.log file is showing a bunch of permissions errors and a critical error that it can't locate the console, which is installed on the E: drive (using default reference path beneath that).  The log says it can't find file "settings" in the temp location, nor the icons in the "resources" folder.  But they're all present and appear intact.

I uninstalled, and reinstalled into the default C: path, still same issues.
